Player Development
Teaching fundamentals and building habits that last.
01About Canes Long Island
Building better players.
Building better people.
A competitive youth travel baseball program on Long Island, built around development, coaching, and a year-round training environment.
02Our Mission
Canes Long Island exists to develop serious young baseball players — on the field and as people. We focus on quality coaching, teaching, and accountability, and on building the strong baseball foundations that prepare players for increasingly higher levels of the game.
03Our Story
Built on Long Island. Focused on Development.
Canes Long Island was founded by Johnny Castagnozzi, a former Canes National player and University of North Carolina infielder who returned to Long Island with a player-development perspective shaped by high-level travel baseball, Long Island championship baseball, and ACC competition.
That perspective is the foundation of the program: teach the game properly, hold players accountable, and build an environment where serious young players can develop toward the levels ahead of them.
